Jerusalem: Russian PM Medvedev meets with Netanyahu

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev paid a visit to Jerusalem, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin, and leader of the opposition Isaac Herzog.

During the meeting they discussed topical issues of international politics, including the fight against terrorism and in the US election results. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: «We must continue our mutual fight against terror».

Despite the fact that some Israeli oligarchs were supporting Hillary Clinton, the official Tel Aviv was pleased with the election results. Moreover, during the preliminary voting in Israel, local Americans voted for Donald Trump.

However, Netanyahu took advantage of Medvedev's visit to accuse the Russian partner - Iran in a radical Islamist terrorism, as strange as it may sound. But the most radical Muslims are Sunnis, while Iran is a Shiite country, while Shiites, in turn; often also suffer from the Islamist terrorism.

Nevertheless, the prime ministers of these two countries, wishing expand cooperation, signed a number of documents, including customs, agricultural, and scientific spheres.
Reuven Rivlin said: «Russia has always had an important role in our region, perhaps today more than ever. We are faced by many challenges, and at the same time opportunities, and we need to be prepared for both».

In addition, Israel's accession to the Eurasian Development Bank program was most likely discussed during the summit. The creation of a free trade zone with the EAEC and the preparation of meetings between representatives of Israel and Palestine were scheduled to be held in Moscow. In some conclusion, the participation of Tel Aviv in the Eurasian project is going to be discussed in November in Kaliningrad.

After this visit, Dmitry Medvedev is going to pay a visit to Palestine, where he will meet with Mahmoud Abbas.
