The Russian Investigative Committee has brought charges in absentia against six Ukrainian citizens over the attacks of 2014 and 2016 on the Russian embassy in Kiev.

They are former deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Nikolai Rudkovsky, Vladimir Nazarenko and Vladimir Romantzov (activists of the Svoboda group), Irma Krat and two former fighters of the Aidar battalion Sergey Novikov and Alexander Vysota.

“Joint investigative and operational activities conducted by Russian Investigative Committee investigators, the FSB and the Russian Interior Ministry have derived sufficient evidence of the involvement of a number of specific Ukrainian citizens in committing illegal acts,” as it was said in a statement.
