The liberation of the Azov region in the spring, the holding of a referendum on the return of the Zaporozhye region to Russia, as well as further prospects for expansion of the liberated territories, put Russia first: the Albanians of Novorussia have become our fellow citizens. Having moved there more than two centuries ago, they are currently represented mainly by the communities living compactly in the three villages of Georgievka, Devninskoye and Gamovo around Melitopol, as well as by half of the large multi-ethnic village of Karakurt (Zhovtnevoe) in the Odessa region.
President Putin addressed his compatriots Wednesday morning in a nationally televised speech that culminated in him informing them of his decision to partially mobilize their country’s experienced reserves. It is only natural that Russia's special military operation of demilitarization and denazification in Ukraine has led to a division into opponents, supporters and those taking a neutral stance. This is fraught in any military conflict. We know from the depths of history similar cases of confrontations that started with small episodes of struggle for power and turned into protracted wars ending in the defeat of one of the sides. A prime example is the Peloponnesian War, when Sparta and Athens fought each other for regional influence. Each side had its own allies and commitments, but there were also neutral players. When Persia decided to support Sparta indirectly, Athens was doomed. Obviously, the US wanted to accumulate the same critical mass, but it failed. Now the scales have swung in the opposite direction.
Wars are not won by psyops. Ask Nazi Germany. Still, it’s been a howler to watch NATOstan media on Kharkov, gloating in unison about “the hammer blow that knocks out Putin”, “the Russians are in trouble”, and assorted inanities.
