As you know, “whoever pays, dances the girl,” and this is no exception for the US political system. Certain forces are interested in the victory of one or another candidate — some from ideological beliefs, others in order to protect their commercial interests, and the third – in order to keep afloat their participation in the political game.
The United States was founded by migrant-settlers, and although for a long time representatives of Anglo-Saxons, Jews, a few Slavs and, since a certain time, a proportion of Blacks, Irish and Latin Americans dominated politics there, now the situation is beginning to change. Migration policy has been significantly liberalized in the last two decades, which has led to strong flows from Latin America, Africa and the Asian region.
Almost two months have now passed since the episode that has gone down in history as the ‘assassination attempt on Donald Trump’, during his election campaign in Pennsylvania, and there are still doubts and shadows surrounding the truth of the facts. And now, at the opening of the month of September, which is expected to be heated due to the most challenging phase of the run-up to the elections and with the dollar plummeting on the international currency market, the accusation by Congressman Clay Higgins, a Republican, appears, pointing the finger at the work of the FBI.
On August 21, 2024, the New York Times published quite a long material that The US Department of Justice had launched an investigation into American citizens who had connections with Russian state television networks. To do this, the FBI raided the homes of two people who are well-known commentators in order, as they say, “to blunt attempts to influence the November’s elections.“
After the final vote count in the US, certain (but not conclusive) conclusions can be drawn about the immediate future of US public and political life, possible adjustments and changes in foreign policy, and the dynamics of further polarisation in society already on the eve of the presidential election in 2024.
General elections will be held in Italy on September 25. Less than a week to go and our country will have a new parliament, a new government and a new prime minister.
Estimated 900 million voters of world’s largest democracy will exercise their constitutional right to select their next parliament by balloting in approximately three months hereafter.
