The US State Department officially notified the UN of the withdrawal of the country from the Paris agreement on the reduction of climate change. This is reported on the website of the State Department.

"Today, the United States submitted to the UN a notice of withdrawal from the Paris Agreement as soon as it will be possible in accordance with its provisions", the report sais.

Washington did not except a possible return to the Paris agreements in the future.

“As the President indicated in his June 1 announcement and subsequently, he is open to reengaging in the Paris Agreement if the United States can identify terms that are more favorable to it, its businesses, its workers, its people, and its taxpayers".

The agreement on combating climate change was prepared in Paris in 2015. It was signed by the representatives of more than 170 countries, including USA, China and Russia.
