Vitaly Churkin: ‘Ukrainian leadership just needs money’

US Ambassador Nikki Haley has said, that Anti-Russian sanctions would remain in place, and the U.S. will support Kiev even if the new US administration is seeking to improve ties with Russia.

In turn, Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin pointed at evidences obtained from surveillance cameras, which were clearly recordings aggressive actions from positions held by the Kiev government troops.

“The essence of those events is quite clear: Kiev is trying to use the armed clashes that it provoked as a pretext for complete rejection of the February 12, 2015 Minsk agreements, sealed by the UN Security Council resolution 2202,” Churkin reported.

Moreover, Vitaly Churkin also cited some words of the Ukrainian military commanders, who boasted their military advance, and he read out OSCE conclusions that blame the Kiev government for the escalation of this conflict.

“Of course, the Ukrainian leadership needs money today, that can be easily wheedled out of the European Union, some European nations, the United States and international financial institutions when they pretend to be a victim of ‘aggression’,” he also added.
