Turkish Interior Minister resigns

Thursday, 1 September, 2016 - 14:15

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim at an unscheduled meeting with the President Tayyip Erdogan.

Presumably, he will  be replaced by the Minister of Labour Suleyman Soylu.

The decision of the Interior Minister of Turkey Ali Efka was made against the background of analysis of consequences of a failed coup and the escalation of the conflict with the Kurds, which resulted in intensified  activity of the "Kurdistan Workers Party", which organized several major explosions in the country.
