Patriarch Kirill signed citizens' appeal to ban abortion

ON September 27, after the service in the church of  Archangel Michael in the village Belousovo Trinity Administrative District of Moscow Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill met with the participants of the All-Russian Public Movement "For Life" and the movement " Orthodox volunteers ", who are collecting signatures on a citizens petition of to ban abortion.

Patriarch Kirill signed the document.

The text of the appeal, which was agreed with the Patriarchal Commission for the Family, Maternity and Childhood Protection, said:

"We, the citizens of the Russian Federation, are in favor of the termination of the existing practice of abortion in our country which is the legal killing of children before birth and require making changes in the legal system.

His Holiness thanked the activists and blessed them.
