Massacre in South Sudan: 270 people killed

The clashes in Juba the capital of southern Sudan took lives of 270 people, according to Al-Arabyia television citing governmental sources.

The violence involves government forces and supporters of former rebel leader Ma'shar Rijeka. Both groups rely on different coalition of tribes.

The reason for the conflict is unknown. Major conflicts between the authorities and the opposition began in December 2013, when the President of the Republic Salva Kiir decided Ma'shar shift from the post of his deputy. As a result of civil war followed, killing about 10 thousand. People, more than 2.2 million have become refugees.

In August 2015 Kiir and Machar signed a peace agreement, after which the opposition returned to power, and his supporters gained positions in the government. Both leaders say they do not know what provoked a new outbreak of violence.
