UN warns about mass genocide in South Sudan

The Special Session of the UN Human Rights Council on the situation in South Sudan was ended. There was held the investigation of crimes related to violation of human rights. Yasmin Sooka, chair of the UN commission on human rights in South Sudan made a report, in which she warned about the possibility of the beginning of the mass genocide.

Yasmin Sooka said: “South Sudan stands on the brink of an all-out ethnic civil war, which could destabilize the entire region. A steady process of ethnic cleansing is already underway in some parts of the country”.
