Georgia 'legalizes' smoking marijuana

The Georgian Constitutional Court has declared that imprisonment and prosecution for use and consumption of small amounts of marijuana is unconstitutional.

According to the Сourt, if the person has up to 70 grams, this amount of marijuana is not for sale, but for personal use.

“The Constitutional Court of Georgia has considered that the rule on the use of small amounts of marijuana for personal use repeats the meaning already the recognized unconstitutional norm and has announced that current disputed provision being as unconstitutional”, noted in the court report.
