NATO considers Georgia as its polygon

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili held talks NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the Alliance headquarters in Brussels. Jens Stoltenberg once again declared about respect of the alliance to this country. However, now the investigation of the killing of a civilian by a NATO member in Krtsanisi near the military base is still going on.
They discussed strengthening of cooperation and the possibility of NATO membership for Georgia. Stoltenberg was highly appreciated the work of the joint military training center (just the one where the

employee committed the murder).

However, NATO's interest in Georgia could be understood very simply in this country. Georgia because of its weakness would become an absolute Alliance colony on the Black Sea, in the region, which is strategically important.

Jens Stoltenberg stressed: «The Black Sea region is of strategic importance for the whole NATO Alliance and the partnership with Georgia is an important part of that».
