Economy: King of Bahrain signs hydrocarbons and military equipment deals

King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Moscow today. Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the issues of bilateral relations of the monarch, was signed by a number of documents in the field of military cooperation and strengthen partnership in the hydrocarbon markets.

At today's meeting in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa discussed key issues of Russian-Bahraini cooperation.

Vladimir Putin thanked Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the visit, noting its timeliness, not only in connection with the prospects of expansion of cooperation, but also with the ability to personally discuss the situation in the Middle East.

"Of course, it is very important to talk about your vision of what is happening in the region. Now I had the opportunity in China to talk with some of our colleagues from the region on the same issues. In this regard, your visit, your majesty, is very timely, and I'm very glad to see you ",  said Russian President.

Today, the parties signed a number of agreements relating to military cooperation, expansion of cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas, with a view to strengthening the partnership in oil and gas, as well as the establishment of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.

Hydrocarbon agreement

For example, between oil and gas companies of the two countries, "Gazprom" and "NOGA Holding" a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas was signed .

Another memorandum in the field of geophysical research in order to explore and produce oil and gas was signed between  "NOGA Holding" and Rosgeologiya.

Earlier, Bahrain endorsed the agreement reached between the Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia on joint action to stabilize oil prices. This was stated by the kingdom's ambassador to Russia, Ahmed Al-Saati.

"Bahrain is not a major oil producer, we are not OPEC members, but we welcome any agreement between oil producers, stabilizing markets. I think that Russian-Saudi agreement will contribute to the stabilization and recovery of oil prices, as this is the largest oil producers, ", RIA Novosti quoted  al-Saati.

On the eve of the meeting of the Russian President with the King of Bahrain, Moscow and Riyadh have agreed on joint actions and measures in cooperation with other oil producers to maintain stability in the oil market, and sustainable level of investment in the long term.

Today, the government of Bahrain and Russia also signed an agreement on military cooperation.

Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had the opportunity today to familiarize himself with the products of the Russian defense industry during a visit to the international military-technical form, known as 'Army 2016'.

"We wanted to get to know your current products, and your weapons industrial complex. And, of course, we are also taking into account that building our relations, in accordance with our needs " quotes the website of the Kremlin on the subject of the Bahraini King's speech during a meeting with Putin.

As previously reported, according to the kingdom's ambassador to the Russian Federation, Bahrain is interested in upgrading its air defense systems, in particular, the king wanted to get acquainted with the S-300 systems and the S-400.
