Eurasian vector: Putin arrives in Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in the Kazakh capital of Astana. Here he will meet with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to take part in the Forum of Interregional Cooperation.

Key partner

Astana is a major partner for Moscow in a wide range of issues. Kazakhstan plays a key role in the process of integration in the Eurasian space. In addition, it is the diplomatic efforts of Nursultan Nazarbayev which have greatly contributed to the normalization of relations between Moscow and Ankara.

The economic dimension

During the visit, Vladimir Putin plans to pay special attention to the issues of economic cooperation and integration. Putin and Nazarbayev plan to speak at the Russian-Kazakh business forum, which is attended by business leaders from both countries. After that, the leaders will participate in the XIII Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan. The main theme this year is the  "Development of the transport and logistics potential of the Eurasian space."
