On this day two years ago, a dear friend of PRAV Publishing, Daria Platonova Dugina, was killed. Her death breathed new life into the world.
In the year and a half since 29-year-old Daria Dugina was killed in a car bombing near Moscow, the question “Who is Daria Dugina?” has not gone away. On the contrary, as the smoke cleared, this question only intensified and broadened.
Speech by N.V. Melentieva at the presentation of the book "Eschatological Optimism" by Daria Dugina at the "Eurasian Congress of Philosophers" 17.02.2024
Eschatological Optimism, the posthumous philosophical testimony of Daria Platonova Dugina, explores and develops this ancient idea amidst the overwhelming kaleidoscope of the cave of the modern world. Engaging a vast spectrum of philosophical, theological, sociological, and literary perspectives, Dugina shows that the decision to decipher and face the illusions of our “reality” is only the beginning of an intellectual, existential, spiritual, and political journey which diverse thinkers, ancient and modern, have dared to undertake.
The topic of eschatological optimism is a rather dangerous and complex topic. It is dangerous because it has never been developed up to this point, it is fraught with many traps, many inaccuracies. When I was trying to prepare for today's lecture, I realized that although such a hypothesis of eschatological optimism can explain many historical and philosophical processes, give them content and additional dimensions, additional context and depth, there are still a lot of questions.
