Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast. The country comprises a land area of 93,030 km2 (35,919 sq mi). With 9.8 million inhabitants it is 88th most populous nation.

Hungary is a Rimland country and has predominantly Continentalist geopolitical orientation.

• Dispute with Serbia relates to parts of Vojvodina populated with Hungarians;
• Territories in the south of Slovakia are also considered as a part of Greater Hungary
