US media: Bannon is preparing to resign
Rumors of the early resignation of Stephen Bannon, chief strategist of the White House and Seniour Counselor to US President Donald Trump circulate in the American media. Earlier in an interview with The New York Post, Donald Trump refused a direct answer to the question whether he trusted Bannon. Instead, the president said that "Bannon needs to be reformed."
The sources of The Washington Post confirmed the unstable position of Bannon. Everyone points out that in the confrontation with Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, Bannon is still losing. Strengthened their positions against the backdrop of worsening relations with Russia over Syria neoconservatives meanwhile are preparing to host their own man, former deputy Secretary of State for odious Elliott Abrams, to the State Department or the White House. His nomination was previously approved by Rex Tillerson, but the appointment fell through because of Bannon's intrigues.
In the event of Bannon's departure from the White House, the realistic populist wing of the administration will definitively lose any influence, which will open the way for more direct domination of the neocons
