Shavkat Mirziyoyev is new President of Uzbekistan

Despite the fact, that the official results of the elections which were held on Sunday, has not yet announced, according to the preliminary data, overwhelming majority of voters - 80% are for Uzbekistan's prime minister for 13 years and interim president. At the same time, the turnout was about 88%, while it was enough to cross the 33% threshold to declare the elections valid.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is well-known to be a conservative politician, which is going to continue the political line of Islam Karimov. This point has allowed him to gain the broad popular support.
