Senate of Poland acknowledged the Volyn massacre as genocide

Polish Senate adopted a resolution that recognizes the July 11 National Day of Remembrance for the victims of genocide committed by the UPA (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists - Ukrainian Insurgent Army) against the inhabitants of the II Republic of Poland (1918-1945).

"The Senate of the Republic of Poland pays tribute to the residents of the Second Republic of Poland, brutally killed by Ukrainian nationalists", - stated in the text of the document.

The UPA is praised as national heroes by the current Ukrainian regime.
