US decision to strengthen Kurds caused sharp opposition from Turkey

The United States will provide heavy weapons to Kurdish militants, despite Ankara's opposition. The corresponding document was signed by the President of the United States Donald Trump. According to the US military, the expansion of supplies will help Syrian Kurds from the People's Self-Defense Forces (YPG). This decision can deepen the differences between Turkey and the US on the Syrian issue.

Nurettin Janikli, the Turkish deputy prime minister, has already called the US actions unacceptable.
