Saturday, 6 August, 2016 - 16:00

August 6, 1945 an American bomber dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. 200 000 people have become the victims of the barbaric attacks. Today in Japan commemorative events regarding this date are held.

Hiroshima tragedy consisted in the fact that the United States applied a blow not only and not so much to destroy military targets, but with the aim to produce a psychological effect on the international community and the Government of Japan - in fact such weapons were used for the first time. The scale of destruction was to demonstrate the military power of the US and push Japanese authorities to unconditional surrender. Another reason for the use of the atomic bomb was to intimidate the Soviet Union, which entered into a major geopolitical confrontation of the century after war. Hiroshima and Nagasaki have become a symbol of American barbarism and proof of the terrorist nature of the USA.
