Shinzo Abe called on to start a new era for Russia and Japan

Japanese Prime Minister is ready to make every effort to uncover the boundless possibilities of cooperation between the two countries.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during his speech on Saturday at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) has called Russian President Vladimir Putin to open a new era for the two states.

Abe called on the Russian leaders to be bold and put an end to the territorial dispute and solve the problem of concluding a peace treaty. The situation with not signed a peace treaty between Russia and Japan, which lasts 70 years, Abe called "abnormal."

"Vladimir, you and I are men of the same generation. Let us be bold, take responsibility, overcome difficulties and leave to future generations a world in which Russia and Japan will open its powerful potential, "- he addressed to Vladimir Putin.

"We are here - everyone has behind its attitude towards history. As Japan's leader, I am convinced of the correctness of the position of Japan. Just like you, as the leader of Russia, you are sure of the correctness of the position of Russia. But if we continue in the same vein, we can conduct such a debate for decades. And if you leave things as they are, neither you nor I will not be able to provide the best opportunities for future generations, "- said the Prime Minister of Japan.
