The parliament was dissolved in Kuwait
The Emir of Kuwait Sabah IV Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has ordered the dissolution of the parliament.
This step was taken according to the words of the Emir «security challenges and their different impacts and risks, that require returning to the people - the origin of authority - to choose its representatives to express its directions, ambitions and contribute to facing these challenges».
After the dissolution of the Parliament the emergency meeting of ministers was convened.
To hold early parliamentary elections was decided, but their date has not been scheduled yet.
According to the Constitution, the Ministries are headed by the members of the ruling family. Moreover, 15 seats in the parliament belong to the ruling family as well, which are appointed by the emir. 50 places are only remaining elective.
