Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Muslim nations to unite in solidarity against the newly adopted US law allowing the families of victims of the 9/11 attack to sue Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with the Saudi television channel, the Turkish president called pitiful this US actions directed against the Muslim world.

"Turkey and Saudi Arabia are being targeted ... We see that all the spears pointed against the Islamic world. This is is why the countries  should be in partnership and solidarity with one another." - Erdogan added.

However, it seems that Turkey is committed not only to support the Saudis as to emphasize their sovereignty in choosing allies. This is also clear from the recent agreement of Ankara and Tehran on humanitarian matters.

The will of the two countries to cooperate raised very serious disagreements with both Riyadh and Washington.
