United China Grows Stronger – Divided The West Grows Weaker

11.09.2021

In the aftermath of the events of January 6th in Washington DC, the Western ruling classes are going on, and on, and on, about the dangers of “racial extremists”, apparently if you are an unapologetic white male, you are a potential terrorist. It makes one wonder how long a civilization can wage a propaganda war against it’s domestic population and founding stock before it sabotages itself beyond repair? It’s a worthwhile question for Western elites to consider. I suppose they could get away with this nonsense at “the end of history” in the 1990’s, when there were no serious geopolitical competitors threatening US global dominance, and the whole world was America’s playground. Indeed, there was a time the West could indulge in such late empire decadence with impunity. However, I think that time has passed. China is rising as the worlds preeminent power, and is set to eclipse the US economically. In fact, according to some estimates it already has, depending on whether you take gross domestic product (GDP), or purchasing power parity (PPP) as the most accurate metric for measuring a nations wealth.

As such, Western analysts really should be paying more attention to China. I attended an online discussion on foreign policy by some so-called Canadian “experts” recently, they spent half the time talking about Climate Change™, and China was not mentioned once. Astonishing really. China is making moves and doesn’t care who’s toes it steps on. The Middle Kingdom is securing itself militarily, economically, and positioning itself as the leading global power, remoulding the global order in it’s own image, while at the same time passing domestic legislation to utilize it’s foreign nationals as potential tools to forward its ambitions. But Canadian foreign policy analysts are more worried about the weather. Hilarious.

With Operation Foxhunt China is operating on the soil of the worlds supposed global hegemon, arguably violating the territorial integrity of their greatest geo-strategic rival, and doesn’t seem concerned about any possible consequences. But let’s worry about white dudes engaging in wrong-think. And the weather. I wonder what colour the sky is in their world?

Operation Fox Hunt was launched in 2014, and was announced as a campaign to pursue corrupt officials who’ve fled abroad to escape the Chinese justice system, however in recent years it has been used to target dissident Chinese nationals across the globe.

According to the Department of Justice, eight men were charged with conspiring to act in the United States as illegal agents of the People’s Republic of China, (PRC) for taking part in Operation Foxhunt, acting on American soil without the US Governments knowledge or consent. Five of the eight were arrested, the other three are assumed to have returned to China.

According to Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers,

“The five defendants the FBI arrested this morning on these charges of illegally doing the bidding of the Chinese government here in the United States now face the prospect of prison.” [1]

As stated in the indictment, the defendants – acting as agents of the PRC – focused on both the targets father and daughter, in an operation of steady harassment, so as to coerce him into returning to China to face charges. To this end, in April 2017 the PRC forced the target’s father to travel to New York in an attempt to somehow coerce his return. Between May 2017 and July 2018 Chinese assets engaged in a harassment campaign – a combination of online and real life stalking – directed at the targets adult daughter. One of the men arrested is an American private investigator, Michael McMahon, who was hired to locate the daughters residence, as well as to record video and take photographs of her. After which, the footage and the images were sent to the target as an implied threat. The details of what the charges the target was facing in China haven’t been released to the public so there’s no way of knowing the exact nature of his crimes. One would think, however, if he was charged with anything considered unlawful by American legal standards, the Chinese would’ve gone through official channels. Or maybe the Chinese just have such little regard for America’s declining position that they aren’t bothered to.

In September 2018, the threats by the PRC assets became more explicit when they attached a note to the front door of the daughter’s home stating, “If you are willing to go back to the mainland and spend 10 years in prison, your wife and children will be alright. That’s the end of this matter!”. The threats continued in 2019 with more videos along with other threatening messages being sent to the home of the target, this time the threats were to his family members residing in China.

According to the director of the FBI,

“Hundreds of these Fox Hunt victims that they target live right here in the United States, and many are American citizens or green card holders. The Chinese government wants to force them to return to China, and China’s tactics to accomplish that are shocking.

“For example, when it couldn’t locate one Fox Hunt target, the Chinese government sent an emissary to visit the target’s family here in the US. The message they said to pass on: the target had two options, returned to China promptly or commit suicide.” [2]

He also stated that the FBI opens a new case every 10 hours related to China’s espionage efforts. The Chinese government is also known to engage in campaigns of intimidation directed at Chinese foreign nationals who are critical of the CCP abroad. Abdujelil Emet, a Muslim activist in Germany was contacted by his family on the phone, at the behest of CCP officials. During the call his sister was in tears, and begged him to stop his activism, at that point a CCP official grabbed the phone and told him “You’re living overseas, but you need to think of your family while you’re running around doing your activism work in Germany…You need to think of their safety.” [3]

To be clear, I don’t ‘mention this story to bolster Western media narratives about human rights, or to rally support for China’s Muslim Uighur population, but as an example of how the CCP uses family members to put pressure on foreign nationals. By essentially using the safety of family members still residing in the PRC as a bargaining chip, CCP officials hope to coerce foreign nationals into doing their bidding. As we shall soon see, China’s foreign nationals play an important role in actualizing their geopolitical agenda.

In his book The Stealth War: How China Took Over While America’s Elites Slept, retired Brigadier General Robert Spalding documents the silent war waged by the CCP on American supremacy, including utilizing it’s diaspora to further it’s interests abroad. By offering material benefits and appealing to national pride and ethnic solidarity, China offers a potent mix of material and emotional benefits to those it seeks to entice. While Western countries have rejected such notions as immoral, China is capitalizing on the deep rooted need of humanity for a genuine identity based upon transcendent ideals such as; a common history, a deep rooted common culture, and kinship, in order to actualize its geopolitical goals.

According to Samuel Huntington, “for Chinese and those of Chinese descent living in non-Chinese societies, the ‘mirror test’ becomes the test of who they are: ‘go look in the mirror.’”. Being Chinese is an ethnic identity. It’s not a value based or civic identity which America and many other Western nations have had the misfortune of adopting over the last 60 years, but an identity rooted in being both a member of an ethnic stock and a part of a civilization with over five thousand years of history.

In his book Spalding recounts a personal story from when he was working for the Defence Attache Offices in Beijing. During a flight to New York the day after attending a conference in Miami with members of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), he noticed many of the passengers had bruises and scrapes on their faces, they looked like they had been in a street fight. When he asked what happened he was told that they were members of the Falun Gong, a dissident religious movement, and were attacked by Chinese nationalists while protesting the PLA. According to Spalding, he was told by his interlocutor that the nationalist counter-protestors surrounded the Falun Gong, first made sure to block them from the view of onlookers, then proceeded to beat the hell out of them. Apparently, the CCP rallied local Chinese nationalists to organize the counter protest, and we are told this is a regular occurrence whenever protests are organized in response to the presence of CCP members abroad.

However, China’s plans for the strategic use of it’s ethnic diaspora are much more ambitious and far reaching then organizing rallies. The CCP seeks to weaponize both it’s foreign nationals, as well as foreign born ethnic Chinese. According to Spalding, China uses it’s diaspora to engage in all manner of subversive activities, including IP theft and corporate espionage.

On June 28th 2017, the CCP passed a piece of legislation, essentially authorizing the state to draft any Chinese citizen, business or organization into working as an intelligence asset. It seems likely that, in the future, the CCP will compel it’s foreign nationals to act as spies on foreign soil, if they haven’t started already.  The text of the legislation states,

“Article 14: National Intelligence work institutions when carrying out intelligence work according to laws may ask relevant institutions organizations and citizens to provide necessary support, assistance, and cooperation.”  [4]

As stated by Spalding, the CCP refer to foreign born ethnic Chinese who become assets for state interests as ‘non-traditional collectors’. These ‘non-traditional collectors’ aide their ancestral homeland in the areas of diplomacy, intelligence, or through corporate espionage.

Closer to home, China is starting to become a bigger issue in Canada, yet still not as important as the weather, according to some analysts. A statement from a spokesman for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), would seem to indicate that China’s Operation Foxhunt is active in Canada, (of course it is)

“When individuals in Canada are subjected to such harassment, manipulation or intimidation by foreign states seeking to gather support for or mute criticism of their policies, these activities constitute a threat to Canada’s sovereignty and to the safety of Canadians.” [5]

As the competition heats up in the coming years between China and the US, dragging in many of America’s allies, it seems that the countless number of Chinese nationals living abroad not only could be weaponized as foreign intelligence assets, but that many in fact will be. Canada has 1.57 million citizens of Chinese descent according to the 2016 census, making up 4.6% of the population with 649,260 being born in China [6]. How many of these immigrants have vulnerable relatives at home and are thus wide open for the same type of coercion discussed above? However, instead of simply being pressured to go home to face the Chinese legal system, are instead pressured to engage in espionage. Another thing to consider, to what degree will the pressure from Beijing intensify when the issue at hand isn’t just about saving face in front of Western media, or a matter of criminal justice, but when it becomes a matter of national security? How many ethnic Chinese will cooperate simply out of ethnic or nationalist loyalty? Say what you want about the Chinese, but at least they haven’t sacrificed transcendent concepts such as duty, loyalty, and ethnic solidarity on the alter of Western liberalism and materialism. At least, not anywhere to the extent that the West has. If Xi Jinping can be praised for one thing, it’s for noticing the existential threat that so-called “Western values” are to civilization as a whole.

While they might be a strategic enemy, one can’t help but have a certain level of admiration for their strong national/ethnic identity, their rich cultural heritage and the fact that they seem to be on the verge of rediscovering it. It’s also impressive the degree to which they’ve been able to resist the incremental encroachment of Western liberalism. While I don’t think I would fit in very well in China, what they have seems to work for them. In her book, The Third Revolution: Xi Jinping and the New Chinese State, CFR fellow Elizabeth Economy, despite her best efforts to paint the CCP regime as oppressive and unpopular, was forced to admit time and time again that many of the Chinese citizens she talked to, seemed absolutely sanguine about measures taken by the CCP most offensive to Western sensibilities. Whether it was internet censorship, the crackdown on foreign NGO’s, or the social credit system, many of the Chinese she quoted in her book weren’t bothered by these measures, and in fact supported them.

It’s precisely these reasons why I think both Western leaders and the Western intelligentsia are going to be blown away in the coming years by the degree to which people of Chinese descent will work with the government of their ancestral homeland. Western leaders don’t have a clue what’s coming, and will only realize when it’s too late. They don’t comprehend the degree to which the divided and depraved anti-culture that has slowly become the norm over the last decade is absolutely repulsive to the vast majority of people in the world who are outside the ideological echo-chamber of Western institutions, and have thus been able to retain their sanity. What passes as the cultural norm in Western states, looks like a depraved dystopia to the people in these places.

Even if they did realize the degree of the potential threat, what are they going to do? Western nations lack both the political will, and requisite moral framework to take the drastic, and quite frankly, draconian measures that would be required to meet this challenge. Best start learning Mandarin everyone.

DISAGREEMENT ON CHINA?

The director of CSIS made a speech back in February warning that Canadians were being “aggressively” targeted, by both Russia and China, and that the Chinese in particular are engaging in “activities that are a direct threat to our national security and sovereignty.”

Apparently, directly naming nations such as China (the Russians have been the favourite whipping boy of the progressive elites media, and foreign policy branches since the 2016 US presidential election) as engaging in activities that represent a national security threat is something of a novelty these days. I guess it’s gone out of style since the “end of history”. According to Global News,

““Big change,” Prof. Stephanie Carvin, a terrorism and national security expert at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, wrote on Twitter about identifying the two countries.

Also on Twitter, former CSIS analyst Jessica Davis, CEO of Insight Threat Intelligence, noted the speech had touched on violent extremism but dwelled mostly on foreign interference and espionage.

“This is consistent with the trajectory over the last few years, certainly post 2016; terrorism will always be a core function, but if we’re talking about strategic, existential threats, it’s all about those foreign states.”” [7]

So, the question is, why the change? Why did the director of Canada’s intelligence agency break from established protocol and make a dramatic speech naming China and Russia? To understand that, perhaps we can gain some perspective by taking a look at what else was going on at the time.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been roundly criticized for his permissive attitude towards China. Less then a week after Global News reported on the dramatic speech by the director of CSIS, the Globe and Mail reported that the Trudeau government signed a deal that would see Canadian universities partner with Chinese tech giant Huawei on research to build digital strategic infrastructure, a move that really doesn’t seem to make sense. It’s truly baffling considering that China is renown for their digital espionage and IP theft.

Who owns Huawei? It’s a valid question, and you’d think it would be a simple one, and you would be wrong. I did a Google search expecting a quick and definite answer, how naive I was. There are several articles, new stories and even academic papers on the subject. Huawei claims to be a private company owned by it’s employees, but apparently, it’s not that simple. It’s a convoluted set up, the majority of shares are owned by a holding company, which is owned by the trade union, which is pretty much controlled by the state. So, while it’s impossible to definitively say that Huawei is a state owned enterprise (SEO), in my opinion, that’s the safe bet. That being the case, Canada is likely partnering with a company owned by its strategic enemy, on a project that is developing critical infrastructure, vital to the security of the Canadian state. Not that it really matters whether or not Huawei is an SEO, the CCP could easily demand the company cooperate with any espionage effort, by applying the 2017 intelligence law mentioned above. Indeed all of Canada’s strategic partners in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, (UK, US, Australia, and New Zealand) have not only decided against working with Huawei, but have either banned or restricted their 5G mobile networks.

According to Jim Balsillie, the founder of the Centre for International Governance Innovation, (the very organization that hosted the event where the director of CSIS made his speech condemning Russia and China)

“All these areas of research are for strategic digital infrastructure that serve as the nervous system for today’s economy and security… It boggles the mind that in 2021 we continue to use taxpayer funds to advance China’s priorities at the expense of our economy, security and Five Eyes partnership.” [8]

It strikes me that their could be a serious institutional divide within the centres of power in regards to Canada’s foreign policy towards China. Could the director of CSIS be signalling his disagreement with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) when it comes to China?

An acquaintance of mine recently informed me that he received an unsolicited visit from two CSIS agents a month ago, they questioned him about a certain philosophy podcast he appeared on as a guest awhile back. These agents informed him that they were concerned about domestic extremism and potential terrorist attacks, I mean, philosophy podcasters are known for being surly characters, but c’mon now. In the days that followed my conversation with this acquaintance, I wondered what the true impetus of this visit was (I mean being on a philosophy podcast of all things? C’mon!). This lead me to look at whether or not CSIS had been in the news lately, which lead me to the above information. I then discovered that the podcast in question recently had a very interesting guest, one Alexandr Dugin. Dugin is well known in the dissident right as a Traditionalist Philosopher, one who is heavily influenced by both Martin Heidegger and Julius Evola, however Professor Dugin is also infamous for other reasons. He is also well known for his influence within the Kremlin. While the sloppier members of the Western intelligentsia have described him as Putin’s advisor (a Google search can show this to be false) and while his influence is much more convoluted then simply occupying an official post as an advisor, it none the less exists. He has also reportedly engaged in diplomatic missions for the purpose of furthering the Kremlin’s interests abroad. Dugin is also a Senior Fellow at the China Institute at Fudan University, which according to its website, “is widely considered one of the most prestigious and selective universities in China.”. This then, strikes me a likely cause for CSIS’ interest. More on this later.

While I’m glad that CSIS has more pressing concerns than the weather, the idea that they should be harassing random white dudes over wrong-think is completely asinine, not to mention a waste of resources. There is an incalculably greater chance of a Chinese national – in the Canadian government, a corporation, or some other sensitive area – being a genuine security issue than white guy’s expressing unsanctioned opinions on the internet. Seriously, what do they think will happen when tensions with China begin to escalate? Do they really think the PRC isn’t going to use the measures discussed above to compromise Chinese nationals? Does the Canadian security establishment honestly believe the majority of Chinese nationals will choose loyalty to an amorphous blob called Canada, with no real history, no compelling national mission, a land which they have no genuine historical or traditional ties to, over loyalty to their ethnic homeland with five thousand years of history? While Canada, broadly speaking, is the offspring of European civilization, it has done everything possible to sever that historical lineage and position itself as a modern multicultural nationstate with no ties to history or identity, and due to the fact that Canada is a young nation, with very little history, this effort has been largely successful.

What are Western governments going to do in a situation where there are hundreds of thousands of potential enemy assets running around domestically? At some point Western states will need to clue into reality, and recalculate the formula they use for assessing risks. At this point the cult of intersectionality is a far  greater security threat then nationalists on the right. It’s the intersectionality ideologues that will oppose any effort to contain actual domestic threats from the state most likely to be a danger, namely China (under the banner of anti-racism). The friend/enemy compass of Western institutions is seriously flawed, and is going to cause a serious miscalculation, in fact, it already has. The adoption of multiculturalism and the ideology of intersectionality has created a deep cultural divide, as well as an intensifying animosity along a number of lines, including ethnicity, income bracket, gender, and ideology. This division intensifies everyday, and there’s no readily available remedy. It remains a question whether or not this divide can be fixed, as the cultural forces driving it seem to have taken on a life of their own. The idea that a society at constant odds with itself can functionally compete with a serious geopolitical adversary is a complete fantasy. Every time a Western corporation or state official legitimizes the intersectionality narrative by signalling support for Black Lives Matter, (BLM) Idle No More, or the latest drive to invest foreign policy initiatives with a feminist flavour, they weaken their nation. First, through weakening national cohesion by advocating a divisive ideology that many people in the various national heartland’s vehemently oppose, and then by putting ideological goals ahead of practical policies that would strengthen their national interests. It was exactly this type of blind ideological thinking which lead Western leaders to actually believe that China’s growing prosperity would lead it to adopt Western values and become a liberal democracy. The sheer hubris of Western elites is unfathomable.

Yet, it seems that the Western elite have predictably chosen to ignore or down play all this. After all to admit this, would have politically inconvenient implications, and we’re ruled by cowards. As I mentioned above, Western institutions lack the political will, not to mention the moral framework to adequately address the problem. So instead, they’ll choose to double down on the toxic ideology of intersectionality and continue to scapegoat their favourite whipping boy, the unapologetic white male. Indeed, it seems as if anyone and everyone on the rightwing is going to be made a target these days. On the 1st of March 2021, the US Office of the Director of Intelligence published a report warning of the danger from white identitarian groups, the report stated that racially or ethnically motivated “extremists” pose “the most persistent and concerning transnational connections”. While the report mentions other types of potential extremists, it seems to lean most heavily on the alleged danger from groups belonging to the political right.

In his testimony before the US Senate on the January 6th protests in Washington DC, where protesters gained entry into the House of Representatives (many of whom were let in by police), FBI director Christopher Wray singled out both the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers as examples of the types of extremists mentioned above, despite the fact that both are civic nationalist groups that have repeatedly spoken out against, and rejected, any for of racial nationalism. Despite the rampant chaos and destruction of BLM, Antifa, and other affiliated leftist groups last summer, the power structures of the West seem to be determined to hold their ideological line.

The problem for them is, this ideological line makes absolutely zero sense in our current age, will only weaken Western powers, and will prove to be an ever greater obstacle to realizing their geo-strategic goals as time goes by. This is simply a fact, as we will soon see.

When, during a meeting between US and Chinese officials in Alaska in March, the American delegation attempted to confront CCP representatives about China’s human rights record, the Chinese representative Mr. Yang Jiechi shot back stating that blacks were being “slaughtered” in the United States (presumably referring to the narrative furthered in recent years by BLM and the mainstream media that black Americans are being systematically targeted and murdered by American police) essentially weaponizing America’s own rhetoric and intersectionality ideology against it.

These recent developments made me consider the possibility of whether or not pragmatic forces within the state might decide that this “woke” ideology no longer serves it’s purposes and if we might see a new push on the behalf of Western powers to foment an ardently pro-Western far-right movement that aligns with it’s geo-strategic interests, They did something similar with the left during the 60’s and 70’s with the new left, funding anti-Soviet far-left intellectuals, meetings and institutions.

Chris Bond discusses and maps this out in his book Nemesis, and in his blog The Journal of Neo-Absolutism. Bond breaks down what he calls the patron theory of politics as well as the history of Western elite’s financing the prolific social movements that shaped the Western world in the last half of the 20th century, as well as the geo-strategic logic for doing so. Racial segregation was a black eye on America’s global image as it was being used as a tool for Soviet propaganda, at a time when the US and the USSR were in a global battle for supremacy, central to which was influence in Africa and South America. Therefore, segregation wasn’t good for business.

If I’m correct, and the Western intelligence establishment are more then just a little worried that Dugin, with the support of the Kremlin, is engaging in the strategy outlined in his infamous book on geopolitics, Foundations of Geo-Politics, such a strategy would make sense. In Foundations of Geo-Politics the Russian philosopher and geopolitical theorist wrote that the Kremlin should support disparate social movements to undermine the internal security of the United States. Therefore, an obvious antidote would be to fund a movement that would support America’s global primacy, and legitimize it’s role in the world by providing rightwing cover and justification of it within the sphere’s of the so called “far-right”. It wouldn’t even be that hard, as nationalist among the so called “far-right” have a natural predisposition to want to support their state and nation.

However, this strategy would require making serious concessions both culturally and economically. For starters the cult of intersectionality would need to be banished from Western academia and pop culture. Such an initiative would likewise require the establishment to start treating their current scapegoats, working class white males, with some dignity and some respect. The economic elites would also be required to sacrifice some economic gains by bringing manufacturing home, and putting an end to the practice of outsourcing, as well as cutting off the supply of unskilled workers flooding Western countries, especially the US from its southern border. While there is no doubt that this could, and absolutely should be done, it would however require a major shift – of both priorities and ideology – on the part of Western elites.

One could argue this is what the neoconservatives were supposed to be, but the neocon’s were the worst of both the left and right, and didn’t offer the American people anything except endless wars, an ever increasing national debt, and precipitated the cycle of globalization that hollowed out America’s working class. The neocons wanted an global American empire, without the spoils of empire. For such a strategy to work, the ruling class actually has to offer their people something beyond mindless patriotism and empty rhetoric. It actually has to offer something substantive.

Some will argue that the Western ruling classes already have an ideology that not only justifies American supremacy, but any foreign policy initiatives America and it’s allies might wish to engage in, and this ideology has not only served their foreign policy imperatives but has allowed them to build a coalition of ideologically driven cadre’s that support their rule at home. While this is indeed true, for the reasons I’ve previously discussed and will elaborate upon later, this strategy is failing, and this failure will become more paramount as time goes by.

This is the fourth time in a century that the seapower civilization that began in the British Empire (the power centre of which was eventually transferred to the United States) has been confronted by a land power state with a national economy that threatens its global supremacy. Despite what liberal economists believe, national economy works. The only reason why the Atlanticist alliance was able to beat it’s previous land power competitors (Germany and Russia) was due to the fact that the UK and the US along with their allies, simply had a greater supply of both manpower and resources. In WWI and WWII, the Germans simply couldn’t compete with the combined manpower and resources of the Allies of Western Europe, along with the United States and Russia, although they put in a remarkable effort in both wars. As for the Russians, America was able to assemble a strong alliance against the USSR, to keep it contained. It also didn’t help that the economic system of the USSR took a much more dogmatic approach to it’s communist economic doctrine, and was therefore much more rigid and sclerotic.

China doesn’t have those problems. The CCP has adopted a very pragmatic economic system, despite its lip service to Marxist-Leninism. Beyond that China has a very large population, with potential domestic operatives in almost every country in the world, via it’s diaspora. Also, once the Middle Kingdom has completed it’s Belt and Road Initiative, it will have many more resources and economic allies at it’s disposal, as it’s economy first overtakes, and then eclipses that of the US. The fact is, the Wests current ideological paradigm simply isn’t working.

Yet, despite these facts, there is little evidence to suggest that Western elites are willing to make the requisite changes needed to reverse course. Indeed, very few seem to see anything wrong. Instead it would seem that the ruling classes in the Atlanticist countries are content to further double down on the ideology that, taken to it’s logical conclusion, is almost certain to accelerate the internal rupture of their nations, thus hastening the collapse of Western Civilization.

China on the other hand seems to be doing the exact opposite. It’s doing everything it can to economically empower it’s Han majority, while providing the nation with a strong sense of national identity, and providing a positive vision for it’s people into the future, through its civilizational project of reclaiming China’s historical greatness. As mentioned earlier, Chinese identity is determined by the “mirror test”, it is a racial and ethnic identity, based around being of Chinese descent, and has nothing to do with the more open concept of citizenship that exists in Western nations. This strong sense of national and ethnic identity creates a profound sense of purpose and national mission for the Chinese people. President Xi Jinping is capitalizing on this for his mission of national rejuvenation, the goal of which is to return China to what the Chinese view as it’s rightful place in the world – that of the world’s leading global power. The Chinese are determined to redeem their nation after the century of humiliation which saw China at the mercy of Western powers after the Opium Wars with England and then France. It is this sense of national identity and national mission which acts as a glue, creating a deep sense of purpose for the Chinese people.

The people of the West share no similar unified identity or civilizational mission, indeed, most people living in the West today have very little sense of unity, or purpose. In fact, as mentioned earlier, the intersectionality narratives ruthlessly pushed by Western academia do nothing but sow resentment and division. Ethnic minorities are taught that they are living in a nation that oppresses, kills, and despises them, and that they have to be constantly vigilant, lest they’ll be relegated back to the status of second class citizens. This does not inspire residents in Western nations of non-European descent to have anything but an underlying resentment for the history and culture of their host nation. For people of European descent, it creates a sense of resignation and apathy. After all, why would they be invested in the fate of a social order that singles them out as the one group socially sanctioned for hatred and ridicule, invested with the resentments of the mob like some sort of Girardian scapegoat.

Far from being a strength, diversity seems to be creating evermore internal conflict in Western states.

The ideological imperatives of intersectionality have begun to seep into areas of governance where ideology shouldn’t be a consideration. According to the Washington Post, infrastructure projects which were on the table for being funded by Biden’s massive stimulus bill, are being shelved, in part due to an ideological aversion,

“Some people close to the White House said they feel that the emphasis on major physical infrastructure investments reflects a dated nostalgia for a kind of White working-class male worker.” [9]

I’ve been to the US, and it has by far the worst public infrastructure of any first world country I’ve ever visited, whether or not it’s part of any stimulus package, it needs to be done, and this seems like a politically opportune time to do it. If your government is neglecting your nations infrastructure because they don’t want to appeal to “a dated nostalgia for a kind of White working-class male worker.”, there is something fundamentally wrong with your governing ideology.

While its becoming ever more obvious to any thoughtful observer that Western nations are in desperate need of an ideological update, the elite seem determined to ride the current ideological paradigm to its inevitable and catastrophic end. It appears that, only when the ideology of intersectionality has been taken to it’s inevitable and terrifying conclusion, will Western elites be forced to change, like an addict who has to hit rock bottom before giving up on his self-destructive lifestyle. The only thing that will change our current trajectory to the bottom will be if some breakaway faction of the ruling class, with its sanity still intact, is able to  wrest control of power and make a desperately needed course correction. If not, we are all in for a very rough ride.

Buckle up.
