Mark Jenkins
Mark Jenkins was educated at King's College, London -where he read theology - and The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst from where he was commissioned into the Welsh Guards as a regular officer. During his time in the Army he served in a variety of high profile roles, including as ADC to Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie, adjutant 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and as the Officer Commanding The Prince of Wales's Company. He deployed on operations in Central America (Belize), Afghanistan, Northern Ireland and the Balkans. Since leaving the Army he has travelled extensively in Russia, and the Caucasus and has made several visits to Mount Athos. He is currently an independent consultant delivering solutions for clients operating in complex, high risk environments across Africa and the Middle East, including the Horn of Africa. Clients have included a FTSE100 listed oil exploration company, and the Royal Hashemite Court. He has a particular interest in east west dynamics, Islamic architecture, Russian philosophy, and remote places.
