Rwanda: 22 French officers accused of genocide

Rwanda has accused 22 French officers (including Gen. Christian Quesnot, Gen. Jean-Pierre Huchon and Gen. Jean-Claude Lafourcade) of helping plan and executing the 1994 genocide, as a result of which 800,000 mostly Tutsi people were killed.

Rwanda's National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide (known also as CNLG) said: «High-ranking French officers and political figures committed very serious crimes in Rwanda».

The publication of this list of French officers is likely connecting with resuming the investigation of the plane crash, in which the then-President Juvenal Habyarimana was died and the most of French crew.

This event became the occasion for the genocide of the Tutsi people, whose representatives were accused of involving in this tragedy.
