Preliminary results of Lithuania elections

After the second round of the parliamentary elections passed in Lithuania, the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP) has taken only the second place and has lost its majority in the Parliament.

The Lithuanian Peasant and Greens Union (LVLS) led by industrial farmer Ramūnas Karbauskis has taken the vast majority (56 seats). The Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats is at the second place (31 seats). The outgoing ruling party LSDP managed to get only 17 seats. The Liberal Movement (the Liberals' Movement of the Republic of Lithuania) has got 14 seats. Besides the large parties, another six ones have entered into the Parliament.
