Extraordinary elections in Kuwait: opposition in Parliament

Sunday, 27 November, 2016 - 15:30

The early parliamentary elections, scheduled after Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah dissolved the parliament, were held on Saturday in Kuwait.

Despite the fact that the official results have not yet been published, the opposition passed in the Parliament, they ignored the previous elections and, accordingly, were not represented in the dissolved parliament. The candidacy of the parliamentary leader depends on its composition. In particular, there is a real chance for former Prime Minister Marzouk Al-Ghanim to return.
