Super Tuesday: Trump scandal, Clinton intrigue

Important events for the presidential race in the United States will be held on 1st March. 14 states and one overseas territory will hold primaries and caucuses. Supporters of the Republican and Democrat Party will elect delegates from their states. These people will take part in conventions for choosing presidential candidates from both parties. On Super Tuesday the people elect more delegates than on any other day of the race, so it is extremely important for all the presidential candidates.

The obvious leader

The presidential candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, is leading by a wide margin in virtually all states where primaries will take place. One of the few exceptions is Texas, where Ted Cruz represents the state Senate. But even there, the gap between first and second place is insignificant.

Trump advised to be friends with Russia

One of the most influential supporters of Trump came under scrutiny of the Western media. The former head of US military intelligence, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, according to several sources, strongly recommended the presidential candidate to take a course of rapprochement with Russia in order to solve global problems. This caused outrage among current American elites, whose position as the hegemon is being undermined by Moscow's actions in the international arena.

Clinton seeks to discredit Trump

At the headquarters of Hillary Clinton, the favorite of the Democratic Party, one can feel the tension and nervousness in the background of the strengthening position of Donald Trump. The fact that a victory in the November election is slipping out of the hands of the Democrats is also understood in the party leadership. The media reported that the Democrats are involved in a conspiracy against Trump to discredit him. The two most current well known Democrats will play the main roles: the husband of the current candidate Bill Clinton and the "lame duck" Barack Obama. Clinton stated that hopes that, due to the tough stance of Trump, he won’t get votes from Mexicans, migrants, Muslims and women are unjustified. According to the former US president, the billionaire's "sixth sense captures the mood of the electorate, so Democrats can achieve a relatively quiet victory in the November elections only through a coordinated campaign." Soon a series of promotional clips will be published, which will attack Trump. At the same time the acting head of state should "portray Trump as a person who is unable to perform the duties of the White House." In other words, the political confrontation between the Atlanticists (existing elites) and the supporters of a multipolar world (Trump and his supporters) in the United States is entering a qualitatively new level.
