Turkish Prime Minister hope to have good relations with Syria

Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim said on Wednesday that Turkey hopes to have good relations with Syria and Iraq, adding that the two countries need to stabilize in order to achieve the counter-terrorism efforts success.

Yildirim made the remarks during his speech about the need of Turkey to strengthen its diplomatic ties in the region.

Television aired his statements live. Yildirim said, "We will expand our friendships at home and abroad, and we have begun to do so externally, where restored our relations with Israel and Russia to normal, and I'm sure we will return to normal relations with Syria as well".

Turkish official pointed out that his country needed to normalize relations with Damascus, linking success in stabilizing the situation with the fight against terrorism, he said " it needs to get stabilizing in Syria and Iraq in order to succeed in the fight against terrorism."
