Russian Defense Ministry keeps eye on NATO drills in Black Sea

Seven NATO member states and Ukraine participate in the Sea Shield 2017 maritime drills. According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Defense Ministry controls everything that is taking place at the NATO drills in the Black Sea.

Sergei Shoigu said: “As you know, a large group has entered and continues entering the Black Sea for exercises. According to a decision of the General Staff and the head of the South Military District, all actions to control this group entering and its activities in the Black Sea have been taken. At present, we see and control everything that happens there.”

“We hope that the exercises will be held in the safest environment and without any challenges for Russia. Otherwise we will be ready to take on these challenges,” he also added.
