Iyad Bin Amin Madani, the secretary-general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has resigned from his post for some health reasons.
Moreover, the resignation of Iyad Bin Amin Madani has appeared only few days after a scandal between Egypt and the OIC.

Last week at an OIC conference hosted by Tunisia, the OIC secretary-general read out mistakenly Tunisian President Essebsi’s name as El-Sisi. After that, Madani made a joke telling Tunisia’s Essebsi «This is a terrible mistake, I’m sure that your fridge has more than water [unlike El-Sisi’s] Mr. President».

Despite his attempt to apologize, the statement caused Egypt’s outrage, against the background of cooling relations with Saudi Arabia because of the conflict in Yemen.
