Hungary: public displays of religious radicalism prohibited

The Hungarian border village of Ásotthalom decided to ban the construction of a mosque in the city, the sound of adhan, the wearing of religious clothing.

Mayor László Toroczkai of the Jobbik party said that this precedent would become an example for the rest of Hungary.

László Toroczkai added: «In that way we will protect Asotthalom, our state, and Europe, the ancient history of urban culture from migrants or other destructive forces. I think this is a historic step, for which our children will be grateful to us».
