Lying at all costs – how Media in Montenegro tarnishes Russia

15.09.2016

Mass manipulation through the media in Montenegro began in the early 90's as a result of strong support given to “independent intellectuals” by various US groups. In 1997, the Media group “Vjiesti” was founded in Montenegro. They started with a newspaper, then opened a television and radio, and then internet portal. We can say that now it is the most influential media in Montenegro.

These materials are focused on the establishment of western wealth in Montenegro. With the strengthening of old clichés and the creating of new ones, they are creating the image of a totalitarian and corrupted Russia. Every month, the media group publishes at least ten such materials, blackening Russia and Putin. Often they resort to quoting such figures as Garry Kasparov, Alexei Navalny, or Ksenia Sobchak.

Russia is compared with a cancer that will soon occupy the Baltic countries. Putin is called a cruel dictator who unjustly takes away property from innocent businessmen. Two months later, they released a ridiculous article about the dictators who loved gold. It was about the wealth of the former leaders of Libya, Iraq, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan. In the end of the article, they wrote about President Putin. According to their friends from Russian the opposition, Mr. Putin has a private jet with a golden toilet, at the cost of 75 thousand dollars. As you can see, in an attempt to humiliate and denigrate Russia, pro-Western media are ready to use any means, even publishing absurdities.
