The United States supported Ukrainian neo-Nazism at the UN

The UN Security Council has rejected the Russian draft resolution that called for Ukraine to fulfill the Minsk agreements and drew international attention to the investigation of the tragedy in Odessa on May 2nd, 2014. The United States, Britain, and France, as well as Ukraine as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, voted against it. Recently, on April 27th, the Ukrainian military shelled Yelenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), killing 4 civilians according to the OSCE mission. The DPR authorities reported the death of 6 people.

Why the resolution was rejected

The reason for the rejection of the document is that the Russian resolution says nothing about the future of Crimea and the destiny of Nadezhda Savchenko. It is significant that the US and its allies are beginning to link the implementation of the Minsk agreements with the status of Crimea, although the text of Minsk agreements does not mention Crimea at all. After forcing Russia to compromise on the east of Ukraine, the Americans are now demanding more - Crimea. The policy of concessions and compromises with the US on Ukraine has once again proved its viciousness.

US plays with fire

The US continues to support the most radical elements in Ukraine responsible for the tragedy of May 2nd, 2014, when Ukrainian neo-Nazis, with the connivance of the authorities, shot and burned alive, according to various estimates, more than one hundred to three hundred people. Instead of the promotion of national reconciliation, which is impossible without an objective investigation into the Odessa tragedy, Americans continue to add fuel to the fire by supporting the most destructive of actions by the Ukrainian side.

The United States is not interested in peace in Ukraine. They need Ukraine as a zone of permanent conflict on the borders of Russia and Europe, and a source of constant trouble for two geopolitical rivals.
