The main purpose of the bombing was not to break the resistance of Japan, which was already at the time close to surrender, but to scare the main competitor in Eurasia - Soviet Russia.

Double standards

Obama's refusal to apologize for Hiroshima is an act of American arrogance towards the Japanese, a country that still has limited sovereignty and is dependent on the US. The US demonstrates that, in international politics, it is guided by the logic of double standards and does not intend to apologize for the most horrible crimes.

Ordinary racism

The anti-Japanese civilizational racism of Americans, who are confident that they are carriers of democracy and thus everything is allowed for them, manifested in the crimes of the US military against the Japanese in Okinawa, where a US military base is deployed. An employee of the base who killed a young Japanese girl was arrested last week. This caused a new wave of anti-American protests in the country. The appearance of the non-apologetic Obama in Hiroshima will once again humiliate the Japanese.

Non-sovereign Japan

The meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Barack Obama at the G7 summit was quite cold due to this background. Japan is forced to submit to US pressure, especially on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions at a time when Tokyo began to move closer to Russia.
