Republicans' betrayal will help Trump

Ordinary hypocrisy

Romney's words addressed to Trump contrast to how their relationship evolved in 2012. The billionaire spoke in support of Romney, who was a candidate from the Republican Party and he, in turn, praised the professional and personal qualities of the businessman.

Mormon

Romney is one of the most influential Mormons in the American elite. From the point of view of the Orthodox Church this pseudo-Christian sect is "pagan." Mormons represent a very strong financial and administrative structure with millions of members who are highly disciplined and united. With the help of lobbyists and substantial financial resources they are able to influence US policy. In addition, it is known that in 2012, Romney was supported by the powerful "Israel lobby", that also has links to the Mormons. This fact suggests that any member of the current US leadership is scared of Trump winning the election.

All against Trump

Romney's betrayal is not an isolated case. The media reported that another 60 Republicans, "with extensive experience in foreign policy", signed a joint letter criticizing the Republican leader of the race. It said that Trump's policy "will make America less safe, and will worsen the situation inside the country and in the world." Among the signatories are such people as former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, former president of the World Bank and Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, and former senior Pentagon official Dov Zakheim.

Forecast

Active attacks by US elites against Donald Trump may eventually lead to an increase in his popularity. The US population does not trust those who are now in power, so the person who causes such horror to the current leadership will inevitably be supported by the wider sectors of US society.
