Russia's rapprochement with the DPRK is a wonderful initiative. It was the meetings and negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, the hereditary head of the DPRK belonging to the sunny Kim dynasty, that caused a stir at the WEF. The West commented: stop this rapprochement at all costs, ban any movement of Russia and North Korea towards each other.
On the 9th of January, ministerial negotiations between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea took place in Panmunjom. Both sides reached an agreement on the resumption of negotiations on a peace settlement and on the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.
The missile reached an altitude of about 770km (478 miles), travelling 3,700km before landing in the sea off Hokkaido, South Korea's military says.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released the following statement on Friday:
Mass protests have been resumed against President Park Geun-hye. Thousands of people have filled all the roads leading to the presidential residence. They are moving towards it.
