Exposing Liberal Totalitarianism through Fourth Political Theory
10.08.2020
On August 1, 2020 the First Online International Conference on Fourth Political Theory (4PT) was organized by Professor Dugin (author of the Fourth Political theory), which was hosted by Paideuma TV. Around 200 participants from at least 40 countries have participated in the conference with different philosophical perspectives on the Liberal totalitarianism and liberal world disorder. This was the first international congress on the emerging Fourth Political Theory, which will play a crucial role in shaping the future of human civilization. The major theme of the conference was the brief discussion on the three political theories of modernity i: e liberalism, communism and Fascism, which are also the central focus of Professor Dugin’s book.
Few days earlier the conference, professor Dugin uploaded his pre-conference speech on his YouTube channel in which he discussed in detail about the ‘cancel culture’ in the west and postmodern liberalism. Soon after the upload of his speech, YouTube blocked his Channel and google disabled his Gmail account. Professor Dugin declared this act as liberal totalitarianism and liberal intolerance. In addition, recently the major American online retailer Amazon has also disabled the access of Alexander Dugin’s book on its site. This shows a sophisticated censorship and surveillance on behalf of the so-called liberals, who are gradually transcending themselves into vicious totalitarianism. In this regard, one of the major focal point of the discussion was the end of liberalism and post-liberal worldview developments.
As an illustration, the fact cannot be denied that the world is in search of new intellectual possibilities to meet the forthcoming socio-political challenges. Hence, the First online International Conference on 4PT was also aimed at exposing the totalitarian face of liberalism. It is because the degenerated western modernity and its techno-centric ideologies have shattered the foundation of human civilization. Nonetheless, the socio-culture essence of the human civilization is on the verge of collapse and thanks to liberalism for pushing it hard off the cliff.
Today, the first ideology of western modernity liberalism is in complete pandemonium and it is time to openly oppose the liberal hegemony. Moreover, it has become a disease and hence, the whole world needs an intellectual liberation from the shackles of liberal totalitarian hegemony. Similarly, it is not about the U.S., Russia, India or China rather it is about us—we all are standing on the verge of socio-cultural chaos and destruction. In this respect, the Fourth Political Theory (4PT) is offering a new philosophical beginning, whose sole aim is to deconstruct the entire liberal intellectual scholarship and to reconstruct everything from essence. The philosophical domain of the Fourth Political theory can be understood in the following four major themes.
First and foremost, it does not uses the language of political theory because the philosophical domain of the Fourth Political Theory is transcended beyond the three political theories of modernity and their variants. Secondly, unlike the three political theories of modernity, Fourth Political Theory has distinctive philosophical foundations, an episteme, which consists of theology (Spirit), ethnosociology (Soul) and geopolitics (Body). Likewise, the epistemic premise of the Fourth Political Theory is based on Heideggerian phenomenology especially the ‘existential core’, which differentiates the essence of Fourth Political Theory from the political theories of modernity. Thirdly, the Fourth Political Theory openly disowns liberalism by calling it totalitarian and hegemonic. Lastly, the Fourth Political Theory values the phenomenology and hermeneutics of Heideggerian Philosophy and applies it to establish the foundation of Fourth Political Theory from the existential core.
In sharp contrast, the ontological domain of Fourth Political Theory is generalized because it encompasses anti-colonial, anti-imperialist and counter-hegemonic theories. Moreover, it calls for an open rebellion against hegemonic and unilateral liberal world order led by the Atlantic bloc. To counter Atlanticism, professor Dugin in his two volumes book ‘The Fourth Political Theory and The rise of Fourth Political Theory’ proposes the formation of Eurasianist bloc led by Russia and other countries in the Eurasian region such as Iran, China and India. Because for Dugin culturally and historically Russia belongs to the East and hence as a leader, Russia must establish the Eurasianist bloc to counter the unipolar liberal hegemonic order. As Dugin says in Fourth Political Theory; “the twentieth century has ended and now we are just beginning to understand that twentieth century was the century of ideologies”.
Throughout the conference, renowned scholars and journalists from different corners of the world shared similar perspective concerning the liberal hegemony and the ongoing chaos. Furthermore, the fact cannot be denied that presently the world is facing the acute crisis fomented by the political and ideological architecture of the western modernity. Hence, the time has approached to fight the liberal hegemony by deconstructing the entire liberal intellectual scholarship. In this respect, the Fourth Political Theory (4PT) is a new and unique intellectual possibility, which is not a closed Universalist model like the other three political theories of modernity.
In addition, the philosophical domain of Fourth Political Theory is pluralistic because it respects and identifies the distinctiveness of each cultures, ethnicities and linguistic patterns from the Heideggerian existential core. Indeed, the rise of the Fourth Political Theory is emerging as the exclusive philosophical alternative to globalism, liberal-democratic universalism, unipolarity, individualism, and the totalitarianism of the neoliberal market values. Conceivably, the First Online conference/ Congress on the Fourth Political Theory was a great success in ideological and geopolitical context. Because this congress was an open rebellion against the postmodern liberalism, which has exposed the totalitarian face of liberal ideology of the western modernity.
Here, the term "Totalitarianism" is not a political Jargon rather a complete theory. It is something beyond "absolute" or "absolutism". All three ideologies of modernity: Liberalism, Communism and Fascism carried this in essence and hence, died out. Today, the first Ideology of modernity known as "Liberalism" became the last dying ideology because of its totalitarian essence. It has shattered the philosophical foundation of knowledge by degenerating it from its simplest form into complex dichotomies. The very complexity of the contemporary intellectual scholarship is in utter confusion because of the indispensable battle between authenticity and inauthenticity. Perhaps, this smeared confusion has given birth to "post-humanity", "post-truth and in general post-modernity.
The complete departure from authentic knowledge under the liberal scholarship was the result of intellectual totalitarianism. For instance, after the fall of Soviet Union the liberal totalitarian scholars anticipated the “End of History thesis” to justify the liberal hegemony. The very context of the “End of history theory” was based on illogical and inauthentic intellectual calculation, which was far away from the socio-political reality. Today, the End of history theory scholars often known as Fukuyamists are facing an intellectual retreat in every milieu.
In contrast, the hidden totalitarianism of liberal ideology is now exposed in every scope from politics to economics. There is no liberal solution to deal with the ongoing liberal chaos and catastrophe. In this respect, it is time to search for new alternatives and new intellectual possibilities such as Fourth Political Theory (4PT) in order to deconstruct the entire theoretical architecture of liberalism and hence, the complexity of contemporary Liberal hegemonic intellectual scholarship.
