In Brussels, during this donors' conference, $ 2.2 billion was managed to gather for the needs of the poorest countries in the world and the former French colony. It has not been really exceeded. Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadera reported that the authorities had planned just to get only $ 1.6 billion.

Touadera said, speaking at the conference (representatives of the donors, including the US, EU, UN and some financial institutions - the IMF and the World Bank): «I have noted some of you have reservations about our ability to implement our recovery plan but I hope I can reassure you».

In turn, EU foreign affairs head Federica Mogherini added: «The Central African Republic is turning the page and now it is our turn to step up and help».
