Russia contributes to building a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh

Russian Council of Ministers, on Monday, Signed an agreement to provide a government loan of $ 11.38 billion for the construction of "Robor" nuclear power plant in Bangladesh.

According to the decision published by the official website of legal information of the government "it has approved a draft agreement between the Russian government and the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, for loan to Bangladesh to finance the construction of a nuclear power plant in the country."

Bangladeshi Media previously announced  that country's government approved a draft agreement between the governments of Russia and Bangladesh about a loan to build a "Robor" nuclear power plant, with the help of the Russian Energy company "Rosatom" , where Russia allocates amounted to 11.38 billion dollars, or about 90 % of the total cost of this project which is estimated by 12.65 billion dollars, and the rest comes from the state Fund of Bangladesh, Bangladesh repaying the loan within 20 years.

It should be noted that "Robor" nuclear plant will located on the eastern side of the "Ganges River", 160 km from the capital Dhaka. This station will consist of two units of nuclear power, the ability of each 1200 MW. It is planned to hold the inauguration of the first power unit in 2022 and the second unit of energy - in the year 2023. The term of the use of each of the two units 60 years.

The plant building will  positively reflecte on the Russian economy, by increasing the Russian technological exports, and provide job orders from more than 100 Russian industrial enterprises , and the participation of about 12 thousand Russian specialist, and create jobs, and increase Russia's budget revenues up to $ 8.4 billion for a period extending to before the completion of the plant.
