North Korea unsuccessfully launched a missile

In North Korea, an attempt was made to launch a missile that ended in failure. The launch took place from the proving ground in the west of the country near the city of Sinpo, the South Korean Committee of the Chiefs of Staff (CSC) reported.

As the Yonhap agency notes, Pyongyang tried to launch the missile, despite the growing tension on the Korean Peninsula, as well as in relations between the North Korean leadership and the United States.

This month this is the second test of ballistic missiles in the DPRK. On April 5, a medium-range missile of the type "Pukykson-2" (KN-15 according to the western classification) flew from the same range. The flight time was 9 minutes, the range is 60 km, and the maximum altitude is 189 km.

US Vice President Mike Pence was informed of the unsuccessful missile launch of North Korea, while on board a flight to Seoul.
