Outgoing President Yahya Jammeh has refused to step down since losing the December election to rival Adama Barrow, who was due to take power on Thursday.
Yahya Jammeh, longtime ruler (22 years) of The Gambia, has lost the presidential election. He has got only 40% of votes, and his opponent, Adama Barrow has 44% of votes.
