Since February 24, 2022, international media attention has focused on Ukraine. Russian incursions into the country shocked Western media and generated fear about the possibility of a new conflict on a global scale. So far, hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost on the battlefield, in addition to a major crisis with migratory, economic, social and agri-food impacts.
The Russian Special Military Operation symbolizes a watershed in history. Before it’s start, there existed an unipolar moment of Western universalism, the uncontested dominance of the trader’s mentality, of matter over spirit. In geopolitical terms, unipolarity was defined by the global dominance of only one civilization, precisely the West with it’s global core in the United States of America, whereas Western allies like the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan, Australia etc.
On February 24, 2022, Russia was forced to launch a special military operation (SMO) to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. The SMO had not only geopolitical, military and ethical prerequisites. In order to understand the significance of the SMO, it should be viewed in the larger context of Russian culture, Russian history, and Russian philosophy, which has its own tradition of reflection on war.
In my opinion, the most striking example of this is that of the Mother of God. I have tried very hard to get around this issue, because it is very subtle and deeply religious, but then I realized: who am I to look up to, if not to her? Perhaps, to no one else.
I want to start with the fact that when we first started discussing this topic and I became interested in female patriotism and how it differs from male patriotism, I was surprised that the word "patriot" has a feminitive. And this is not a Newspeak unlike "redaktorka" and not even a Soviet legacy, where for every profession name there was a feminitive analog. The word "patriotka" (feminine for patriot in Russian language) dates back to the 19th century.
Before we talk about feminine qualities in different times - peaceful and unpeaceful - we need to answer the essential question: What is a human being? If we understand a human being as a virtual image (and now we understand him exactly as an image, as a certain sign that does not refer to anything in reality, and we remember what such signs are called in French philosophy) then we can have any image of ourselves.
