Kashmir has always remained an unsolvable maze for the entire region. The history of Kashmir and the eyes of grey haired Kashmiris narrate the sorrowful tale of Indian brutalities. The agony in the voice of innocent Kashmiris has always been ignored by the international powers. One wonders why the screams of a girl being raped by BJP pandits can’t reach the floor of UNSC. Why the Muslim genocide in IOK (Indian Occupied Kashmir) is often neglected by the world? Why the human rights abuses committed by India in IOK have not given any importance? Why don’t the torch bearers of humanity and human rights apprehend India and question Indian belligerence? These are the questions need to be answered by the international community which has been ironically enjoying the deep slumber of ignorance since decades. From first ever UN report discussing human rights abuse by Indian forces in Kashmir to revocation of Article 370, numerous events have highlighted the inhumane approach of Indian government towards Kashmir, but the world has remained or rather has pretended to remain deaf and dumb towards the hue and cry of Kashmiris.

The history of Kashmir and the eyes of grey haired Kashmiris narrate the sorrowful tale of Indian brutalities. The agony in the voice of innocent Kashmiris has always been ignored by the international powers.

In a latest and a shameful move, Indian government-amid opposition’s resistance- has revoked Article 370 pertaining to the special status of IOK. By doing this India has not only violated the basic human rights of Kashmiris and haslegitimized saffronization of Kashmir but has also disregarded and disrespected UN resolutions on Kashmir. The past trajectory of India and this event have unveiled the fact that India has maintained a fascist posture towards Pakistan that only invites war. On the other hand, Pakistan knows the cost of war and has been continuously forgoing India’s war mongering for the sake of bilateral and regional peace. She has been reaching out the international community and international forums for the resolution of Kashmir crisis triggered by India. It is high time for all the international and regional powers to help Pakistan establish peace with her belligerent neighbor -who’s always adamant at waging a war. Russia and China both of the major regional powers must play neutral instead of taking sides because prejudiced approach at this juncture will only promote competition and conflict which may only lead towards a war.

Russian dream of Eurasian region can only be realized if the entire region is bonded in the ties of cooperation rather than conflict and with the Kashmir issue hanging between Pakistan and India, the Eurasian concept appears to be anything but a reality.

Though Russia is a traditional ally of India but at this critical point Russia has to think about the greater good of the region. Owing to her influence in the region and on Indian government, Russia appears to be the state that can positively resolve the ongoing Kashmir crisis. This time Russia is to act in neutral way to solve Kashmir issue for the sake of regional peace and progress. As both India and Pakistan are the members of SCO(Shanghai Cooperation Organization) and Kashmir is the only major issue between these two traditional rivals, so, if this issue is resolved the efficiency of SCO may increase manifold and it would not have to face the fate SAARC suffered and still suffers.Furthermore, the war like situation between two nuclear powers is a continuous threat to the region. The war would become inevitable if Pakistan replies Indian belligerence with equal intensity. Both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers. Any escalation may cause a massive regional devastation in specific and international chaos in general. So far, Pakistan has avoided any sort of confrontation with India-amid India’s war mongering. But, now Pakistan is done and she won’t take any more.

Moreover, the longstanding Kashmir issue between Pakistan and India is a challenge to regional peace and progress. If Russia wants to strengthen this region like EU, she needs to play the role of a big brother and to help Pakistan solve the Kashmir conundrum. Instead of seeing the regional members dancing on the western tunes of divide and rule, Russia must sow the seeds of harmony and cooperation that can be only possible if Kashmir dispute is being solved amicably. In addition to this, Russian dream of Eurasian region can only be realized if the entire region is bonded in the ties of cooperation rather than conflict and with the Kashmir issue hanging between Pakistan and India, the Eurasian concept appears to be anything but a reality. Last but not the least, the entire region can progress positively and develop geometrically if the Kashmir question is being answered neutrally and rationally. Hence, to welcome development and progress Russia shall take the lead to resolve the Kashmir conflict.

As genocide in Kashmir questions the principles of humanity so, instead of labeling it as a bilateral issue, the world must take it as a humanitarian crisis and must engage both Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir conflict peacefully.

Therefore, instead of preaching Pakistan to keep on sacrificing, the international powers must advise India to shun her traditional fascist approach.Mass killings, blinding and rapes of Kashmiris are enough evidence to provoke the international and regional big wigs to play an impartial role in the resolution of Kashmir crisis. The world shall consider people of Kashmir humans first and then Kashmiris. The west, which is concerned about even the animal rights, must shift its attention towards the rights of millions of humans of this ill-fated land. What the world is waiting for? Is the world waiting for a Syria like crisis or a nuclear war to differentiate right from wrong? As genocide in Kashmir questions the principles of humanity so, instead of labeling it as a bilateral issue, the world must take it as a humanitarian crisis and must engage both Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir conflict peacefully. It’s high time for Russia and China –the regional powers- to play their positive role and to pursue India for a peaceful resolution or else this region will suffer what the Middle East has been suffering for years.
