Mexico: Trump’s threats to send U.S troops are ‘absolute falsehoods’

The Mexican government has vehemently denied any reports that President Donald Trump threatened to send American soldiers into Mexico during phone talks with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Trump said that he was going to send U.S. troops to stop “bad hombres down there”. However, the excerpts of the call did not make clear who exactly Trump considered as being these “bad hombres”.

“I know it with absolute certainty, there was no threat. The things that have been said are nonsense and a downright lie,” Peña Nieto spokesman Eduardo Sanchez said in an interview.

At the moment, there are tensions between the U.S. and Mexico, especially after President Donald Trump signing an executive order ordering its immediate construction along the U.S.-Mexico border. According to Trump, Mexico has to pay for its building, but President Enrique Peña Nieto refused to do it.
