Philippines: bomb found near U.S. Embassy

Philippine police detonated a home-made bomb that was discovered near the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Two controlled explosions were carried out.

The police officer reported: «The improvised bomb fashioned from an 81-mm mortar round, cellphone, blasting cap and a small battery could have been powerful enough to kill people within 110 yards».

Ronald dela Rosa, the national police chief, suggests that the attack was organized Islamist group related to ISIS.
