Germany launches drone defense system

Tuesday, 8 November, 2016 - 15:00

Deutsche Telekom is developing a drone defense system, designed to guard airports, stadiums, car test tracks and critical infrastructure. Its aim is to create a no-fly zone above the critical infrastructure. The use of drones is increasing for commercial and leisure purposes; it often leads to accidents and undesirable consequences.

U.S.-based Dedrone, Australia's Droneshield, Norway's Squarehead Technology and Airbus's Rohde & Schwarz are invited to hold joint work during this project.

The launching of the system is planning to be held at the end of this year.
