NATO has a new chief

Rose Gottemoeller was appointed to the post of NATO’s Deputy Secretary General, who succeeded Alexander Vershbow.

However, NATO will hardly change their strategy, quite the contrary. Rose Gottemoeller, as Vershbow, had been working long time in Moscow. She is fluent in the Russian language and the same russophobe as Vershbow.  But she is more familiar with the current internal situation, as Gottemoeller had been to Russia in the early 2010s. Vershbow had also held as the US Ambassador in Moscow in the late 1990s.

Earlier Gottemoeller held the post as a US chief negotiator of the Treaty of New START / CHB- III, which entered into force in February 2011, but was subsequently avoided.

Until recently, she has been engaged in arms control and international security. Gottemoeller was also a consultant of the United States Department of State's Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, from which it can be concluded that the world is obliged the aggravation of the situation in Aleppo to her.
